Your Privacy Choices

We don't sell or share your personal information
Special Occasion, Inc. does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. That covers you and the people you send gifts to.
We do use website analytics on our public pages: Google Analytics 4, Vercel Web Analytics, and Vercel Speed Insights. These tools tell us how people use our website and how fast it loads. Google and Vercel process that data on our behalf as our service providers, only to provide analytics to us. We've turned off Google's advertising features for our analytics (Google signals and ads personalization), and we never send them your phone number, name, email, agent name, or messages. We don't use advertising cookies, ad pixels, retargeting or remarketing, or session recording. Under California law and similar state laws, our analytics use is not a "sale" or "sharing." You don't need to do anything to opt out today. If you'd like to record an opt-out anyway, so it's on file if our practices change:
- Email support@specialoccasion.ai with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share" and your mobile number.
We'll reply by email to confirm. No verification is needed to opt out. We'll apply your opt-out to your account and to any future advertising technology.
Want Google Analytics off too? An email opt-out doesn't turn off analytics, because analytics isn't a sale or sharing. To turn off Google Analytics, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser (see below), install Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block or delete cookies in your browser. Vercel's analytics don't use cookies.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information for that browser, and for your account if we can tell it's you. We don't sell or share personal information, and we also don't load Google Analytics in a browser that sends GPC, so no Google Analytics cookies are set and no visit data goes to Google. Vercel's cookieless analytics still count the visit. If we ever add advertising technology, GPC will turn it off for you. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
Sensitive information
We use sensitive personal information only to provide the Service you asked for, keep it secure, and prevent fraud. We never use it to infer characteristics about you, and it never goes to analytics or advertising tools. So there's no separate "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" choice to make.
Your other choices
- Stop texts: reply STOP. Reply START to resume.
- See, correct, or delete your data: email support@specialoccasion.ai. If you ask us to remove a person you've ordered a gift for, we keep only what we need for order and financial records, for financial, tax, and legal reasons (Privacy Policy §7).
- Forget a person or a date: text your agent. This stops reminders about them but doesn't delete them.
- Close your account: use Settings on our website or in our app. You're signed out right away. We remove or de-identify your personal account details and delete your message history, your agent's memory and settings, and the people you've saved who've never had a gift ordered through us. For people you've sent gifts to, we keep their name, city, state, and ZIP with your order records, and we keep financial records such as purchases, orders, and refunds. If a gift is still on its way, the rest finishes once that order is complete. Details are in Privacy Policy §6.
- Recipients: if you received a gift and want your information deleted, email support@specialoccasion.ai. If a gift has already been ordered for you through us, we keep the records of those orders for financial, tax, and legal reasons (Privacy Policy §4).
