Special Occasion: Terms of Service
Effective date: November 1, 2026 · Last updated: November 5, 2026
Important: Section 22 requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court or in a class action. You can opt out within 30 days; section 22 explains how.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Special Occasion, Inc. ("Special Occasion," "we," "us"). They cover your use of specialoccasion.ai, our text-message gifting agent, and everything we do for you through it (together, the "Service"). By signing up, texting us, or approving a purchase, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.
1. What the Service is
Special Occasion gives you a personal gifting agent that you talk to by text message. You sign up on specialoccasion.ai by entering your name and mobile number, naming your agent, and building their face (an avatar). Your account is then created, and we prompt you to text your agent to get started, so you always send the first text. You tell your agent about the people in your life and the dates that matter (birthdays, anniversaries, a new job, and so on). As a date gets close, your agent picks a gift from catalogs we shop, suggests any add-ons, writes the card's note, and texts you a proposal that names the recipient, the total price, and the expected arrival day.
Add-ons: handwritten cards, gift cards, extra gifts, flowers, and gift sets. Each add-on and its price appear in the proposal before you approve.
Nothing is bought, charged, or shipped until you approve that specific proposal. You can ask for changes, swap the gift, edit the card, or decline, all by text.
Your agent is an AI, not a human. It's an automated assistant, even though it has the name and face you gave it, and it will say so if you ask. It can misunderstand you or make mistakes, so read each proposal before you approve it. See section 9.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is not for children, and you may not sign up on behalf of anyone under 18.
- The Service is available only to people in the United States (the 50 states and Washington, D.C.), and gifts can only be sent to US addresses that our partners and carriers deliver to. Some items or add-ons may not be available everywhere.
- Your account is created when you complete signup on our website (your name, your mobile number, your agent's name, and the avatar you build). It is tied to that mobile number. You are responsible for activity from that number. If you lose control of your phone or number, tell us right away at support@specialoccasion.ai.
- Give us accurate information, including your own contact and payment details and the recipient details you share, and keep it up to date.
3. Text messaging
We send and receive messages from our dedicated number, +1 (936) 203-1770, through our messaging provider, Sendblue (Round One, Inc.), which delivers them as iMessage where available and otherwise as RCS or SMS, depending on your device and carrier.
By submitting the signup form, which shows our text-message consent wording, and then texting us, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from your agent, sent from +1 (936) 203-1770, at your number about your account, the people and dates you've shared (including reminder texts about upcoming dates you've saved), gift proposals, approvals, order and delivery updates, and support. Message frequency varies with how many people and dates you add. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying any goods; it is, however, how the Service works, so you cannot use it without texting.
- What we text you about. We only text you about the people and dates you've asked us to track, your gift proposals and orders, and your account. We don't send marketing texts. That includes reminder texts about upcoming dates you've saved, which your agent sends on its own ahead of each date, along with any gift proposal for it.
- Reply STOP at any time. After you reply STOP, our texting provider blocks every text to your number right away, so you won't get a confirmation message, and your agent can't reach you with proposals, reminders, or updates. Proposals you haven't approved are never bought. You can text START to resume.
- For help, email support@specialoccasion.ai.
- Carriers and Sendblue are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
4. Proposals and approval
- What a proposal contains. Each proposal names the recipient, what will be sent, the total amount you'll be charged, and the expected arrival date.
- What counts as approval. Approval is a clear "yes" to that specific proposal in the thread (for example, replying "yes," "approve," or tapping an Approve option). We will not treat silence, an ambiguous reply, or a "yes" to a different message as approval. If we aren't sure, your agent will ask again.
- Each approval is a one-time authorization to charge your payment method the stated total and place that order. It does not authorize any other purchase.
- Changes after approval. If the price goes up past the total you approved, we will ask you before we buy (see section 5). If we can't get an item, we refund it.
- Orders that can't be placed. We charge the full total when you approve. If our retail purchasing partner can't complete a retail order in full, the whole order is cancelled. If no part of a gift can be placed, we refund it in full automatically, including the service fee. Add-ons from our other partners, such as handwritten cards and flowers, and items from different stores are ordered separately, so one part of a gift can go through while another can't. If that happens, we automatically refund the part that couldn't be placed (the item plus that store's tax and shipping), plus the 4% part of the service fee on that item. The parts that went through stay charged, and we keep the flat $4.49 part of the service fee. If a part's status is unclear, we review it by hand. See the Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
- Expired proposals. A proposal expires if you don't approve it within 72 hours, or sooner if waiting longer would make the gift miss its date (your agent will tell you the deadline in the proposal). Nothing is charged for an expired proposal. Your agent may follow up with a fresh proposal at the then-current price.
- If something is ever bought without your approval, you get a full refund. See the Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
5. Prices, fees, and payment
- Catalog price, no markup. Items are charged at the retailer's catalog price at the time of the proposal. We don't add a markup to products, and there is no subscription.
- Service fee. Each approved gift has one service fee: $4.49 plus 4% of the gift's order subtotal. The order subtotal is the combined price of everything in that approved gift: the items plus any add-ons (handwritten cards, flowers, extra gifts, and gift cards at face value). It doesn't include sales tax, shipping, or our own fees (such as the gift set fee). The fee is rounded to the nearest cent. There's no per-store surcharge, no matter how many stores the gift's items come from. For example, a $40 item, a $5 handwritten card, and $55 of flowers make a $100 order subtotal, so the service fee is $4.49 + $4.00 = $8.49, before tax and shipping. Shipping and any sales tax are included in the total you approve.
- You see the full total before you say yes. Every proposal shows the full total you'll be charged, with the service fee shown as a single dollar amount and any shipping and tax included. You're charged that total and nothing more, unless a price goes up and you reply YES to the new price (see Price changes below). Want the breakdown (catalog price, service fee, shipping, tax)? Ask your agent in the thread before you approve.
- Payment. You authorize us and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your payment method for each approved order. Stripe collects and stores your card details under its own privacy policy. We don't store full card numbers ourselves.
- More than one charge. A proposal with a gift and add-ons (for example, flowers and a handwritten card) may show up as more than one charge on your statement. Together they never add up to more than the total you approved, plus any price increase you said yes to.
- Name on your orders and receipts. Your orders, charges, and receipts from us are in the name Special Occasion. Retailers, florists, and carriers may also send delivery notices about a gift under their own names.
- Billing questions. Email billing@specialoccasion.ai about charges, receipts, or refunds.
- Who sells to you. When you approve a proposal, we act as your purchasing agent: we (through our partners) buy the items on your behalf from the retailer, florist, or card service that sells them, and have them delivered to your recipient. The seller's own terms and return policy apply to the items, and we handle returns and problems with the seller for you. Our service fee is for our service. Sales tax is collected where required, by the seller on items and by us on our fee where it's taxable.
- Total-price display. The total you approve includes every mandatory charge: the items, the service fee, shipping, and tax. We never add a fee after you say yes.
- Chargebacks. If you think a charge is wrong, contact billing@specialoccasion.ai first and we'll fix it quickly. Disputing a charge with your bank is always your right. While a dispute is open, we may pause new orders on that payment method.
- Gift card add-ons. We don't add fees to gift cards, deduct anything from their value, or shorten their expiration dates. A gift card's face value counts toward the order subtotal used to calculate that gift's service fee, which you pay when you approve the gift; it isn't a fee on the card. Gift cards are issued by the brand or issuer, and their terms (including any expiration, which federal and state law generally limit) come from the issuer.
- Price changes. Retail prices can change between proposal and purchase. If an item's price goes up past the total you approved, we'll text you to ask before buying. Reply YES and we charge only the difference, with no extra fee; reply NO and we cancel that item and refund it. If charging the new price fails, we'll text you to try again or cancel and refund that item. Until you answer, the order is held for review and nothing more is charged. A lower final price isn't refunded automatically. See section 7 of our Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
6. Gifts, add-ons, and fulfillment
- Add-ons: handwritten cards, gift cards, extra gifts, flowers, and gift sets.
- We place orders through fulfillment partners: a retail purchasing partner buys retail items from online retailers for us, a handwritten card service produces and mails cards, and a floral delivery network arranges flower delivery through local florists. Products are supplied and shipped by those retailers, brands, and florists (for example, the catalogs named on our site). Brand names are used to describe where items come from and do not imply endorsement or partnership unless we say so.
- Arrival dates. The arrival date in a proposal is our good-faith estimate based on the retailer's or carrier's stated shipping time. If we learn an order won't ship in time to arrive by that date, we'll text you right away with the new estimate and let you choose to wait or cancel for a full refund, including the service fee. If you don't reply before the order ships, we keep it moving unless the new date would miss the occasion, in which case we cancel it and refund you in full. We can't guarantee carrier delivery dates once an item has shipped.
- Holiday order deadlines. Single gifts follow each retailer's own holiday shipping dates. Gift sets need extra time, so for a gift set we'll show the latest order date in your proposal.
- Handwritten cards: your agent drafts the note, and you can change every word before approving. Cards are produced and mailed by a handwritten card service that writes each one with a real pen, using handwriting robots.
- Gift card add-ons are subject to the issuer's terms and generally can't be refunded once delivered (unless they were sent without your approval, in which case you get a full refund).
- Flower add-ons always ship directly from the florist. Flowers and other perishables may vary in appearance from photos and can't be returned once delivered.
- We can't control what retailers or carriers do, but we will help you sort out problems. See the Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
6A. Gift sets (add-on)
With the gift set add-on, items for one recipient are shipped to our packing location (a location we designate), and we wrap everything and send it as one gift set.
- Packaging. We pack sets in simple, gift-ready packaging (a shipping box with tissue, filler, and ribbon), not a rigid gift box.
- Set fee. The set fee is based on the number of items: $20 for 1–3 items, $30 for 4–5 items, $42 for 6–8 items, and $42 plus $5 for each item over 8. The exact set fee and the set's shipping cost are shown in your proposal before you approve. The set's shipping is quoted at approval based on the items' weights and sizes, the box, and the destination. We never charge more than the shipping you approved, and if the actual label costs less, we refund the difference after it's bought. Sets over 12 items or 20 lb get a manual quote before you approve. Handwritten cards never count toward a set's size. Both the set fee and the set's shipping appear in the approval text, as part of the total, before you say yes.
- Flowers are never in a set. Flower add-ons always ship directly from the florist.
- When we take custody. We take custody of an item when its delivery to our packing location is confirmed. Until then, the original seller or carrier is responsible for it.
- Inspection. We inspect items when they arrive. If an item arrives damaged, missing, or wrong, we tell you and offer options: wait for it, replace it through the original seller, or ship the set without it. No set ships until you approve the change.
- Assembly and holding. We assemble and ship a set within 3 business days after the last item arrives. We hold items for a set for no more than 30 days. If an item still hasn't arrived 14 days after its original estimated arrival (or sooner if waiting would miss the occasion), we contact you, and with your approval we ship the set without it and refund or replace that item as described in the Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
- Items in our custody. If we damage or lose an item while it's in our custody, that's our responsibility: we'll replace it or refund what you paid for it, including its share of tax and shipping. That amount is the most we're responsible for per item, except where the law doesn't allow a limit.
- After we ship. Once the set leaves our packing location, damage or loss in transit is handled under the delivery-problems section of the Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy. We'll work with the carrier and replace or refund as described there.
- Returns. Individual items go back under each original seller's return policy. The set fee and the set's shipping cost are refunded in full if you cancel before we start assembly, if we can't deliver the set, or if something goes wrong on our side. Once a set has been delivered as approved, the set fee and shipping aren't refunded when items are returned.
- Excluded items. Gift sets can't include flowers, live plants, perishable or refrigerated food, alcohol, hazardous or restricted items, items that carriers treat as oversized or that weigh more than 50 lb, or any single item worth more than $1,000. Your agent will tell you if an item can't go in a set and will offer to ship it on its own.
7. Recipients and their information
When you share someone's name, address, phone number, dates, or preferences, you confirm that you have a legitimate reason to share them so we can send that person a gift, and that you won't use the Service to send anything unwanted, harassing, or unlawful. Don't add someone who has asked you not to contact them. We use recipient information only as described in our Privacy Policy. We never market to recipients. A recipient can ask us to delete their information at any time by emailing support@specialoccasion.ai; if a gift has already been ordered for them, we keep the records of that order as our Privacy Policy (§4 and §7) explains.
7A. Contacts you upload
- Optional. You can upload a contacts file (a .vcf or .csv file) on specialoccasion.ai so your agent can find your important people and their birthdays. You don't have to; the Service works without it.
- What we save and why. We save every contact in your file as a person in your account (you don't pick which ones), with their name, phone number, email address, notes, and birthday (month and day). Our Privacy Policy (§9A) lists exactly what we save and don't. We use them only to remember your important people and dates and to send gifts you approve. We never use them to contact those people, to market to them, or for advertising, and we never sell them. If you only want some people saved, upload a file with just those contacts.
- Your right to share. By uploading a file, you confirm that you have the right to share it with us for this purpose, and that doing so doesn't break anyone's rights or any terms you've agreed to.
- Removing people. You can ask us to remove people you uploaded by telling your agent or emailing support@specialoccasion.ai. When you remove someone, we delete their details, or, if you've bought them a gift through us, keep only what we need for order and financial records, as our Privacy Policy (§7 and §9A) describes, and stop using them for reminders and suggestions. Asking your agent to "forget" someone stops their reminders but doesn't delete them.
- Check the dates. Contacts files can contain mistakes, so check any date your agent finds before you rely on it.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive;
- send gifts or notes that harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate someone;
- order prohibited or restricted items, including weapons, alcohol or tobacco where restricted, hazardous materials, or anything the retailer or carrier won't ship;
- try to get your agent to make purchases you aren't authorized to make, including with someone else's payment method;
- try to make your agent's avatar look like, or present it as, a real person;
- try to make your agent produce unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content, or to bypass its safeguards;
- resell gifts bought through the Service as a business;
- interfere with, overload, reverse-engineer, or scrape the Service, or access it with bots or automated agents other than through features we offer.
We may refuse, pause, or cancel any order, or suspend an account, that we reasonably believe breaks these rules. If we cancel an order you already paid for, we refund it in full.
9. AI agent, automated content, and third-party products
- You're talking to an AI. Your agent is an automated AI system, even though it has the name and face you chose. It is not a person. If you ask whether you're talking to a human, it will tell you it's an AI. A person from our team may review a conversation to provide support, investigate a problem, or keep the Service safe.
- Suggestions, not guarantees. Gift ideas, product descriptions, prices, arrival estimates, and card notes are generated automatically from retailer data and what you tell us. They may be wrong or may not suit the recipient. Check each proposal before you approve it. Your approval of a specific proposal, with its items and total, is what authorizes a purchase. Nothing your agent suggests is bought without it.
- Card notes are your words. You approve every card note before it's sent, and you're responsible for its content.
- Third-party products and information. Products are made and sold by third parties. Product details, images, ratings, and availability come from retailers and other sources, and we aren't responsible for their accuracy. Product warranties, if any, come from the manufacturer or seller. Brand names are used only to describe products and don't imply endorsement or partnership.
- No professional advice. Your agent helps with gifts. It doesn't give legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
10. Your content, the avatar, and our content
- Your content. You keep ownership of what you send us: messages, preferences, and the choices you make to build your agent. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content only to run, support, secure, and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Card notes your agent drafts for you are yours to use.
- The avatar. Your agent's face is AI-generated from the choices you make at signup (such as the description and style you pick). It isn't made from photos of real people, and it isn't meant to depict any real person. You can use it within the Service. We use the generated image only to operate the Service for you, unless you give us separate permission.
- Feedback. If you send us suggestions, we can use them without owing you anything.
- Our content. We and our licensors own the Service, the Special Occasion name and logo, and the software, design, and text behind it. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.
- Copyright complaints. If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright agent at support@specialoccasion.ai or by mail to the address in section 24. Include your contact details, a description of the work, where the material appears, a statement of your good-faith belief that the use isn't authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove material and will terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
11. Electronic communications and records
By signing up, you agree that we can provide agreements, notices, disclosures, receipts, and other communications to you electronically: by text message to your number, by email if you've given us one, or by posting them on our website. Electronic communications satisfy any requirement that they be in writing. Your approval of a proposal by text is your electronic signature for that order. You can ask for a copy of these Terms, or of any receipt, by emailing support@specialoccasion.ai. To stop electronic communications, close your account. Because the Service runs by text, you can't keep an account without them. You need a mobile phone that can receive texts, and you're responsible for keeping your number current.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change, add, or discontinue features. We may update these Terms. If a change is material and adverse to you, we'll tell you by text or email at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires a change sooner. Other changes take effect when posted, and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Approved orders are always governed by the Terms in effect when you approved them. If you don't agree to an update, stop using the Service and close your account. Changes to section 22 (arbitration) follow the opt-out rule in that section.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop at any time by texting STOP, or by closing your account in Settings on our website or in our app. Closing your account is covered in our Privacy Policy (§6). We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if we suspect fraud or abuse, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the Service. Where it's reasonable and lawful, we'll tell you why and you can appeal by emailing support@specialoccasion.ai. Orders you approved before your account was closed will be fulfilled or refunded in full. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations for approved orders, refunds owed to you, ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and disputes) will survive.
14. Disclaimers
Apart from the promises we make in these Terms and our Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy (including that nothing is bought without your approval, that you see the full total first, and that unapproved charges are refunded in full), the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and we don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some states don't allow these disclaimers, so they may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible; and
- our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) $100 or (b) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits don't reduce your right to a refund for an unapproved charge, our responsibility for items we damage or lose in our custody (section 6A), or any liability the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or personal injury caused by our negligence. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
16. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable losses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, from third-party claims that arise from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service (for example, sending harassing gifts or using a payment method you aren't authorized to use), or content you provide, such as a card note. This doesn't apply to claims caused by our own breach or negligence.
17. Force majeure
We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, carrier or retailer outages, labor disputes, pandemics, government action, utility or internet failures, or outages at our messaging, payment, or fulfillment providers. If such an event affects an order you approved, we'll tell you and give you the choice to wait or cancel for a full refund of anything not yet delivered.
18. Sanctions and US-only use
The Service is offered only to people in the United States, for delivery to US addresses. You confirm that you aren't on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties and won't use the Service in violation of US sanctions or export laws.
19. Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use Special Occasion. If something on our website or in our texts is hard to use with assistive technology, or you need a policy in another format, email support@specialoccasion.ai and we'll help.
20. Business use
These Terms are written for personal use. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you're authorized to accept these Terms for it, and both you and the organization are bound by them. If we sign a separate written agreement with an organization, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these Terms.
21. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable US federal law (including the Federal Arbitration Act), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration under section 22, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court where you live.
22. Dispute resolution: arbitration and class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your rights. You can opt out within 30 days (see "Opting out" below).
- Talk to us first. Before filing a claim, the person bringing it must send a written notice describing the dispute and the relief requested. Send yours to support@specialoccasion.ai or by mail to the address in section 24. We'll send ours to your number or email on file. We'll both try in good faith to resolve it informally for 60 days, and either of us may ask for a phone or video settlement call during that time. Statutes of limitation are paused during this period.
- Binding individual arbitration. If we can't resolve it, you and Special Occasion, Inc. agree to resolve any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service through final, binding arbitration on an individual basis, instead of in court. This includes disputes about the scope or enforceability of this section, except as stated below.
- Rules and administrator. The American Arbitration Association (AAA) will administer the arbitration under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where they apply, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules (www.adr.org). If the AAA is unavailable, the parties will agree on another administrator or a court will appoint one. The arbitration will take place by video or phone, by written submissions if your claim is $10,000 or less (unless the arbitrator requires a hearing), or in person in the county where you live.
- Fees. We'll pay the filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees required of a business under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. We won't seek our attorneys' fees from you unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous or brought for an improper purpose. The arbitrator may award you attorneys' fees where the law allows.
- What isn't covered. Either of us may (a) bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration, as long as it stays there and is individual; and (b) go to court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service. Nothing here stops you from reporting a problem to a government agency.
- Class-action and jury waiver. You and we may bring claims only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party and only as needed for that party's claim. Any request for public injunctive relief will be severed and decided by a court after the individual arbitration. You and we waive any right to a jury trial.
- Mass filings. If 25 or more similar claims are filed against us or by us using the same or coordinated counsel, the AAA's Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules apply, and the claims may be administered in batches (for example, by having a single arbitrator decide a small group of bellwether cases first) to keep fees reasonable and decisions consistent. Statutes of limitation are paused for claims waiting in a batch.
- Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days after you first accept these Terms by emailing support@specialoccasion.ai with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out" and your name and mobile number, or by mailing that information to the address in section 24. Opting out doesn't affect anything else in these Terms. If we make a material change to this section, you can reject it by sending the same notice within 30 days after the change takes effect; the prior version will then apply to you.
- Severability. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim (and only that claim) must be decided in court, not arbitration. If any other part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
23. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Approval, Cancellation & Refund Policy, and any terms shown at signup or in an approval message are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent allowed and the rest will still apply.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a right right away doesn't waive it.
- Assignment. You can't transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them to an affiliate or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, and we'll tell you if that happens.
- No agency or partnership. We buy items on your behalf as your purchasing agent for that limited purpose only. Nothing else in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or broader agency relationship.
- Time to bring claims. Where the law allows, any claim relating to the Service must be brought within one year after it arises.
- Headings are for convenience only. "Including" means "including without limitation."
